Continuing Education Program

CPI continues to serve as a key resource to NYS OMH in its mission to promote widespread use of evidence-based practices throughout the state by offering continuing education credits to NYS physicians, psychologist, licensed mental health counselors, licensed social workers, nurses and substance abuse counselors.

CPI’s trainings are available to practitioners and clinicians working in OMH-licensed, OASAS-certified or NYS VA programs. Our trainings are designed to support the professional development of staff and the overall health of the program. Directors, supervisors, and program managers are invited to request access for their department’s employees. If you work outside of NYS, or work as a private practitioner or for an agency licensed or certified by an entity other than OMH, OASAS or the VA, we cannot offer CEUS to you at this time.

AMA Category 1 Credits (Continuing Medical Education or CME credits) are accepted by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Licensed nurse practitioners can submit CME certificates as continuing education (CE) equivalents, for competency requirements, as well asfor applicants seeking renewal through CE credit. For more details on AANP continuing education, you may view here: https://www.aanpcert.org/recert/ce_opps and scroll down to the list of acceptable CE providers, which includes AMA for CME. For any additional questions regarding CPI’s course offerings, please contact CPI’s CEU Program Manager, Alissa Trepman at Alissa.trepman@nyspi.columbia.edu.

Unfortunately, there are no plans to expand our offerings at this time. If we update and expand our CEU offerings in the future, then it will be broadly announced.

If you would like to be informed of any programmatic changes, such as trainings becoming available to non-OMH, non-OASAS, or VA professionals, or if you have any other general inquiries about the CEU programs, please email Alissa Trepman, MA, MPH, CEU Program Manager at Alissa.Trepman@nyspi.columbia.edu.

CPI trainings that provide continuing education are currently offered in the following formats: Live in-person, Live Webinars, Self-Study Modules, and Self Study Archived Webinars.
