Bio: Dr. Labouliere is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology (in Psychiatry) at Columbia University and the Interim Co-Director of the Suicide Prevention – Training, Implementation, & Evaluation (SP-TIE) Program at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Prior to joining the SP-TIE team, Dr. Labouliere had over ten years of research and clinical experience working with individuals with suicidal behavior. serving as project coordinator for several large federally-funded youth suicide prevention grants, designing and implementing evidence-based risk assessment and treatment protocols for youth and adult clients with suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and training graduate students and interns in the assessment and treatment of suicidality. Dr. Labouliere has been with SP-TIE since 2015, and her role includes the design, implementation, and evaluation of statewide suicide prevention efforts, including the training of clinicians and other providers in empirically-supported, suicide-specific interventions. She was Project Director of the largest implementation and evaluation of the Zero Suicide model ever conducted in outpatient mental health, where she coordinated all implementation, clinical, and data collection efforts, including training of 5000+ clinicians across New York State and implementation of the clinical model in 168 clinics (and 280 affiliated satellites) statewide. The clinical model of suicide-safer care utilized in this project (AIM-SP) has subsequently been expanded to inpatient units, substance abuse treatment, coordinated specialty care for first episode psychosis, certified community behavioral health clinics, psychiatric emergency departments, and school-based settings across the five regions of New York State. Her research has resulted in numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on the topic of mental health and treatment for mood and anxiety disorders and self-destructive behaviors.

Bio: Dr. Brodsky works on all aspects of the Program for Suicide Prevention-Training, Implementation and Evaluation. She conducts trainings, reviews current and prospective training initiatives for suitability and evidence-base and helps develop manuals and evaluation tools. She helps to identify and develop trainings, particularly those geared towards improving the skills of behavioral health providers, other health professionals and gatekeepers. She is a Research Scientist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute, and has extensive experience and skills in training professionals in evidence-based treatment of suicidal individuals which she will bring to bear on state-wide training efforts. She also helps to determine appropriate methods of evaluating competence and fidelity monitoring to evidence-based protocols. She conducts trainings as needed, trains trainers and visits sites to assess needs and help sites in achieving and maintaining fidelity.

Bio: Dr. Monahan is a Project Director at the Suicide Prevention– Training, Implementation & Evaluation (SP-TIE) Program at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Assistant Professor of Clinical Medical Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University. Her work focuses on the development, dissemination, and evaluation of suicide prevention programming for mental health professionals across New York State. She contributes to the identification and development of training programs aimed at enhancing the skills of behavioral health providers working with individuals at risk for suicide. Dr. Monahan has extensive training in both conducting research and delivering evidence-based clinical interventions to individuals experiencing suicidal and self-injurious thoughts and behavior. During her graduate training, she played a key role in the state-wide dissemination, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based suicide risk assessment and management practices as part of federally funded grant initiatives. She has published on suicide prevention, professional training, and evidence-based treatment in peer-reviewed articles and chapters.

Bio: Dr. Kloosterman serves as an Implementation Specialist for the Suicide Prevention – Training, Implementation, and Evaluation program at the New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI). As a qualitative and program evaluation expert, Dr. Kloosterman designs comprehensive process and product evaluations for mental health initiatives led by NYSPI and the Suicide Prevention Center of New York State (SPCNY). She creates, plans, and implements main evaluation components, including conceptual frameworks, logics models, and evaluation tools, as well as data collection and analysis, and formative and summative evaluation reports. Throughout her career, Dr. Kloosterman has been deeply involved in the field of education and health promotion, through which she has directly assisted children and families, educators, and health practitioners in diverse communities, especially those underrepresented and underserved. She has also written and published in English and Spanish, presented nationally and internationally, trained researchers and practitioners, and actively served in professional and community-based organizations. Dr. Kloosterman’s holistic and constructivist approach continues to enrich and reaffirm her commitment to serving others.
